Mike Sturkie was recently named the first physician recruiter and liaison for MEDcare Urgent Care in Charleston, South Carolina.
“We are extremely excited to welcome Mike aboard during this pivotal time,” Joseph Pawlik, MEDcare chief managing officer and chief operating officer, said. “He has a proven track record for building a high-performance culture with a strong emphasis on physician advocacy.”
Sturkie is a graduate of the Citadel, where he earned bachelor's and master's degrees in business administration. He is a veteran of the South Carolina Army National Guard, where he served for almost 30 years including as the deputy director of the medical command, deputy state surgeon and senior personnel administration officer.
Sturkie was honored by the National Guard in 2004 in Washington, DC as medical recruiter of the year.
