Carole Campbell Swiecicki begins term on National Children’s Alliance Board

Charleston’s Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center Executive Director Carole Campbell Swiecicki began her three-year term on the National Children’s Alliance Board of Directors on May 31.

“I am excited to join this distinguished group of professionals working to reduce the impact of abuse on children,” Swiecicki said in a July 1 release. “This will be an opportunity to share knowledge at a national level and to further improve outcomes for children here in the Lowcountry and beyond.”

The Dee Norton Lowcountry Children’s Center is a member of the National Children’s Alliance. The alliance works to help communities respond to child abuse allegations with support and full investigations through children’s advocacy centers and multidisciplinary teams.

Swiecicki is a clinical psychologist and a clinical assistant professor in the Medical University of South Carolina Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. She has a background in child maltreatment intervention and prevention.

“After many years of dedication to our organization and the children’s advocacy center network, we are thrilled to welcome Carole to our board of directors,” National Children’s Alliance Executive Director Teresa Huizar said. “Her knowledge of the work we do, and her direct and current ties to our membership will be extremely valuable as we continue to lead the National Children’s Alliance into the future.”
