Real estate company Miller-Valentine Group said Tuesday its personnel finished a design-build delivery of manufacturing facility upgrades at GKN Aerospace, based in Charleston, South Carolina.

The improvements were for facilities in Orangeburg that are used for the Boeing 787 Floor Section 47 Program and were done in tandem with on-site assembly work.

The project will boost the capacity of the facility as a whole and are part of a master plan compiled by GKN Aerospce representatives.

The ultimate goal of the master plan is for GKN Aerospace to continue to meet the demand as the aerospace industry grows, not only in Charleston but across the southeast.

“Our continued partnership with Miller-Valentine in our Orangeburg assembly facility has helped GKN to service the growing opportunities in the aerospace industry in the southeast,” GKN Aerospace South Carolina Vice President Bill Beard said. “Over the longer term we expect this facility to serve a range of aerospace customers on assembly tasks across civil and military aviation.”

GKN Aerospace has operations in more than 30 countries and serves the automotive, aerospace and land system markets.
