Tristan Events welcomes head chef Brian Deason

Johnson & Wales-trained chef Brian Deason has joined the team at Tristan Events, located in Charleston, South Carolina.

Tristan Events is known throughout the Charleston area for its unique cuisine; Deason has traveled the globe and plans to bring his culinary expertise to his new job.

Deason spent a year in Florence, Italy. The following year he cooked for service personnel in Afghanistan before going to Southeast Asia to study Thai cuisine. He has worked at the Swan and Dolphin Resort in Orlando, Florida, and has done remote site catering in Alaska.

Now living in the Charleston area, Deason is impressed with the area's fresh produce and local ingredients.

"I’m excited to be back in the Charleston area and look forward to exploring all it has to offer from a culinary standpoint,” he said.

When he is not cooking, Deason likes to browse fares at farmer's markets, try new eateries and visit clubs and cocktail bars in the Charleston area -- his favorite so far is Bourbon.
