FHL Bank Atlanta; Family Services, Inc.; and Operation Palmetto Employment have collaborated to host a comprehensive workshop that will cover a wide range of available services and programs that help support veterans and their families.
The workshop begins at 10 a.m. on June 23 at Family Services, 4925 Lacross Road, First Floor Conference Room, in North Charleston, and aims to help veterans better connect with their local communities through these service opportunities.
The workshop includes the chance to see an overview of FHL Bank Atlanta’s suite for housing finance resources that are available to veterans through member financial institutions. Participants can learn how veterans living in the Charleston area can get help from Family Services, Inc., through various initiatives, including Supportive Services for Veterans and Families, One Less Homeless Vet and Representative Payee Programs. The event includes a presentation by representatives from SC Works and the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce about the methods Operation Palmetto Employment uses to assist veterans in establishing careers as civilians.
If organizations participate in the workshop, they will gain an additional five points for their continuing-education credits as part of the SC Community Economic Development Certification Program.
Organizers ask that interested participants RSVP for the event as soon as possible.
