Alice Paylor, a partner at Charleston-based law firm Rosen Hagood, recently was honored with the Platinum Compleat Lawyer Award from the University of South Carolina School of Law Alumni Council.
This recognition is bestowed each year by the law school's Alumni Council to alumni who have exhibited professional competence, exemplary ethics and integrity in their field.
“Alice is very deserving of the Compleat Lawyer Award,” Richard Rosen, managing shareholder of Rosen Hagood, said. “The firm is very proud of her and pleased that she is being recognized for her civic and professional accomplishments.”
Paylor's specialities are complex business and commercial litigation, employment litigation, and school and education law. She is a 1977 graduate of the University of South Carolina School of Law and joined Rosen Hagood in 1982.
Paylor's service history with the South Carolina Bar (S.C. Bar) and various legal organizations includes serving as the 2013-2014 president of the S.C. Bar and serving on the S.C. Bar’s Board of Governors since 2005, including terms as secretary and treasurer.
Paylor was appointed to the American Bar Association Commission on Women in the Profession in 2014 and was elected to serve on the Executive Council of the National Conference of Bar Presidents. Additionally, she is a permanent member of the 4th Circuit Judicial Conference.
