The South Carolina School Boards Insurance Trust (SCSBIT) has named Tim Hinson risk control manager.
Hinson has worked in the trust’s risk control division since 2006. SCSBIT Director of Insurance Services Frank Vail said that Hinson brings valuable experience and relationships to his new position.
“Tim has expertise in strategies for reducing liability risk, and he has developed strong working relationships with SCSBIT member districts,” Vail said. “This combination makes him the ideal person to lead SCSBIT’s risk control services division.”
Hinson, a graduate of the University of South Carolina, worked for the South Carolina State Accident Fund before joining SCSBIT.
Hinson said that he is excited to enter his new position of risk control manager and to build on his previous work.
“In the time I’ve been with SCSBIT, I have enjoyed working with districts throughout South Carolina,” Hinson said. “I look forward to building on those relationships and continuing to serve the needs of our state’s schools.”
SCSBIT is one of the services provided by the South Carolina School Boards Association. It offers workers’ compensation, property insurance and casualty insurance, along with risk reduction services, all provided through a not-for-profit structure.
