CBRE Group Inc. recently announced that the company has acquired CBRE Columbia, an affiliate firm of CBRE that has provided real estate services in the Columbia, South Carolina, region since 1996.
“The CBRE Columbia professionals are some of the leading client-service professionals in their market, and we look forward to enhancing our collaboration with them to build advantage for our clients,” Steve Smith, managing director of South Carolina for CBRE, said. “We see significant growth opportunities in South Carolina, and our Columbia-area operations will realize significant positive synergies with our other offices throughout the Southeast.”
During the past 18 months, the company has been busy acquiring its remaining three South Carolina affiliates. It acquired Charleston in 2013, Greenville in 2014 and now Columbia in 2015.
This final acquisition has enabled CBRE to unite its South Carolina operations under one, corporate-owned, integrated platform, which will improve the company’s ability to serve occupiers and investors throughout the state.
“Our acquisition by CBRE is the completion of a long-range goal and is a great fit strategically and culturally,” Martin Moore, managing principal at CBRE Columbia, said. “Fully integrating into CBRE’s premier global platform will allow us to meet a broader range of needs for our clients from Columbia and around the world.”
