EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics, a subsidiary of Germany's EuWe Group, said on Thursday that it will open its first U.S. facility in Anderson, South Carolina, a move expected to bring approximately 49 new jobs to the area.
As a supplier of metal and plastics products, the EuWe Group has seen tremendous growth since its founding in 1968. Its first international venture was established in Mexico. Now with over 1,700 employees in three nations, it exclusively supplies the auto industry and claims 10 of the world’s leading automobile manufacturers as clients.
“EuWe is excited to soon start its first operations in the United States,” EuWe Eugen Wexler US Plastics CEO Markus Gosse said. “When looking for the right site, we were impressed by the professionalism and also the welcoming demeanor of the people in South Carolina and especially those in Anderson County. As a company that is still managed by its founding family and one that always plans for the future, we believe we’ll find the best employees here in South Carolina to also make this endeavor a success.”
The company’s new site will be located off Route I-85 at Alliance Industrial Park; the South Carolina facility will focus on interior plastic components for vehicles. The firm plans to invest $11.1 million in the expansion.
“Team South Carolina’s focus on taking care of our businesses and their employees is helping our state become a top destination for international companies,” Gov. Nikki Haley said. “We couldn’t be more excited to welcome the EuWe Group to its new home in Anderson County.”
EuWe produces center consoles, pillar trim, trunk panels, window frames, cladding, door sills, rear vents, engine-compartment fairings and similar products for automobiles.
