U.S. Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) wants his South Carolina constituents to know about National Financial Literacy Month, as well as the benefits of financial literacy, Scott said on Wednesday.
“As we begin National Financial Literacy Month, we recognize how empowering financial literacy is for individuals, families and communities at all stages of our lives," Scott said. "I believe greatly in helping people realize the power of wealth creation, and I know that financial literacy lays the groundwork for it."
Scott said financial literacy opens up opportunities for individuals, families and the community at large.
"I encourage individuals and families to use April to take advantage of the programs available to assess their personal financial health and create financial goals that work for them," Scott said. "Too many families are faced with crippling debt, and ensuring they have the tools to move forward is of critical importance to both our communities and our nation as a whole."
