The Upstate Business Journal recently named local lawyer Michael F. Johnson as a "Who's Who One to Watch 2015."
The publication selected Johnson, a partner in the Greenville office of Nelson Mullins Riley & Scarborough LLP, from more than 130 nominees. The purpose of the award is to recognize professionals who have made significant contributions to the region’s business landscape – and “whose work in the future will be well worth keeping an eye on."
A former lawyer for the U.S Securities and Exchange Commission, Johnson’s role at Nelson Mullins is to work directly with local companies, underwriters and boards of directors, advising them on private capital markets transactions, SEC regulatory and reporting, and other federal and state securities issues.
Established more than 100 years ago, Nelson Mullins employs more than 500 lawyers and other professionals with numerous offices along the East Coast, including the District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Massachusetts, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.
The Upstate Business Journal is distributed by the Community Journals Publishing Group, based in Greenville, South Carolina. The company publishes a number of other periodicals, including the Greenville Journal and Town Magazine.
