Home furnishings retailer Ashley Furniture HomeStore licensee Broad River Furniture is investing $12.6 million to establish a new corporate campus and distribution center in York County, bringing an expected 200 jobs to Fort Mill, South Carolina, Gov. Nikki Haley announced last week.

Broad River Furniture was established in 2003 in Pineville, North Carolina, and is the largest Ashley Furniture HomeStore licensee in the Carolinas and Georgia, employing more than 500 full-time workers. The company’s new 174,000-square-foot facility will be located at Lakemont Business Park in Fort Mill and is expected to open in November.

“Fort Mill is the ideal location for our new campus,” Broad River CEO Jonathan Ishee said. “We thank the state of South Carolina for their cooperation and support during our site selection process, and we look forward to breaking ground on our new facility. Along with our new cross-dock facility in Spartanburg, this new location will accommodate our growth to about two-and-a-half times our current volume, and we will finally have all of our corporate associates together in one location.”

The location of the new campus and distribution center is along the Interstate 77 corridor, which provides easy access to support Broad River’s 16 other Ashley Furniture HomeStores throughout South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia.
