Hong Kong-based strategic sourcing and manufacturing company 3S International has invested $15 million to establish its first U.S. operations center in Laurens, South Carolina.
The company, which specializes in products for the energy market as well as precision large-scale fabrication and painting, opened its doors Feb. 15 in an existing 58,000-square-foot facility at 1073 Neely Ferry Road. According to a press release, the company is also adding 4,000 square feet of office space to accommodate its administrative needs.
The company is expected to create at least 45 jobs over the next five years.
“We welcome this new company to our country to bring much-needed jobs and tax base,” Laurens County Council Chairman Joe Wood said. “It is good to see an industry located in an existing building in the county.”
The U.S. operations will support the company’s energy divisions of firms in the global marketplace and will manufacture above-ground storage tanks and precision fabrications.
