Cabanas, courtyards, a clubroom and dog park will be a part of The Beach Co.’s downtown Columbia project, Sola Station, which is slated to be complete in 2018.
The project is the city’s first riverfront mixed-use community devoted to residential and commercial use with Congaree River views, according to a news announcement.
Sola Station, which was named for a 19th century railroad line, marks the end of The Beach Co.'s CanalSide series. The project will include rental units and plentiful amenities along the river.
Amenities include exercise and recreational facilities such as a bike shop and even a pet spa with a saltwater pool; outdoor grills, fire pits and kitchen facilities; hammocks for lounging; and two courtyards with landscaping and lighting. A fitness center and yoga studio are also planned.
“The river and its natural surroundings were our greatest inspiration for the residences and amenities at Sola Station,” John Darby, CEO of The Beach Co, said in the announcement. “Everything is strategically oriented to the river, esplanade and greenway, creating a special place to call home within an urban oasis of shopping, dining and entertainment.”
The team of construction consultants has focused efforts on the site since November 2016. Collaborators include JHP Architecture, Creative Builders Inc., Alliance Consulting Engineers Inc., Hodgson & Douglas LLC and Moore Design Group.
