A Charleston County business is set to create 80 new jobs in the area as it expands operations.
NCGS Inc. is a clinical research organization that works in conjunction with the pharmaceutical industry. The company's new corporate headquarters in Charleston will create 80 new jobs.
“NCGS’ core mission is to help develop new drugs that improve our lives,” NCGS CEO Nancy Snowden said in a statement. "This is an exciting time of unprecedented discovery in our industry, and NCGS is proud that our success will translate into growth for our beloved Lowcountry community. Our continued expansion and success, not only impacts new jobs, but furthers our philanthropic impact on the community."
NCGS, which was founded in 1984 is an international, full-service, clinical research organization working to advance medicine via clinical development in fields such as oncology or infectious diseases among others. The privately held company has been implemental in the approval or expanded approval of some 34 biologic or diagnostic products and drugs.
Hiring for the new positions has already begun and interested applicants can apply via the company’s career page online. Job development credits related to the project were approved by the Coordinating Council for Economic Development. In addition to jobs, the project will also bring new capital investment in the amount of $10 million to Charleston.
NCGS is expected to move into its new headquarters at 16 Charlotte St., in Charleston some time during the spring. Mayor John Tecklenburg released a statement indicating he is looking forward to welcoming the company to its new headquarters.
