The Beach Co. of Charleston plans to begin construction on Sola Station, the final phase of its CanalSide neighborhood in downtown Columbia.
Sola Station, based in The Vista and named after a 19th-century railroad station, will be a mixed-use community. The property is next to CanalSide Lofts and boast great views of the Congaree River and easy access to Three Rivers Greenway and the downtown area.
The site will host 339 multi-family rental units and 29,000 square feet of commercial space. Amenities for the residences include a saltwater pool and spa, a fitness center and yoga studio, a dog park, a bike shop, outdoor kitchens and a club room overlooking the pool.
“The Beach Co. continues to remain focused on upscale apartment living in desirable downtown neighborhoods across the Southeast,” CEO John Darby said. “From the well-established CanalSide Lofts in Columbia to Main + Stone in Greenville, there is an undeniable preference for apartment living in walking distance to work and entertainment.”
The development is blocks away from two of Columbia's main arteries, Huger Street and Gervais Street.
