Clemson University was recently included in Financial Planning magazine as having one of the leading 75 programs in the U.S. for students who want to create financial planning careers.
Previously, Clemson was in the top programs listed in Financial Planning, but for this year the magazine excluded certificate-granting programs to highlight degree-granting programs. This, in turn, emphasized the financial planning track that Clemson students follow for their bachelor of science degree.
At Clemson, students are able to choose four areas of academic emphasis in finance. Corporate finance accounting is the most popular among students, with financial planning coming in second.
“There’s a huge movement in the financial planning world to work with millennials and across other generational groups,” Josh Harris, department of finance lecturer, said. “Students have recognized the career and income-earning opportunities that exist in this rapidly growing field.”
This list demonstrates that Clemson is making its finance students a priority.
“Being on this list shows the commitment and priority Clemson University and the department of finance put on preparing students for meaningful and successful careers,” Harris said. “It is also an acknowledgment that we have a quality program committed to meeting the requirements set forth by the Certified Financial Planner Board.”
