Mashburn Construction welcomed industry professional Bryan Smith to its Charleston office recently.
Smith, who came on board as the preconstruction manager, has more than 30 years of experience in the construction industry, including serving as a preconstruction manager and senior estimator. He received a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Clemson University.
Preconstruction is an essential part of any construction, remodeling or renovation project. Mashburn assists clients with preconstruction planning, including concept, budget, design, scheduling and project delivery.
Mashburn Construction is headquartered in Columbia, and has offices in Charleston and Greenville. The family-owned business was founded in 1976 and celebrated its 40th anniversary this year. The full-service firm focuses on preconstruction, construction management, general contracting and design-build for a variety of clients. Project areas include church, educational, health care, historical renovation, hospitality and senior living.
Among Mashburn's previous projects is the exterior renovation and restoration of Randolph Hall, Towell Library and Porter's Lodge at the College of Charleston. The buildings are listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Mashburn used historically appropriate materials in renovating the 150 year old buildings. The South Carolina Department of Archives and History gave the project its Honor Award for Historic Preservation.
