Officials at the Daniel Island School based in Daniel Island, South Carolina, recently chose Kori Brown as the school’s new principal beginning on Aug. 1.
On July 26, leaders with the Berkeley County School Board granted approval for the appointment.
As she prepares for the upcoming school year, Brown said she sees this opportunity as a responsibility and honor from the Daniel Island School.
“I am honored to be given the responsibility and trust to serve the Daniel Island community,” Principal Brown said. “I look forward to sustaining the wonderful things happening at Daniel Island School and moving forward with STEAM education and arts integration. Together, with teachers, parents, and community, we will empower all of our students for success.”
Throughout her 21 year career, Brown has worked in public education. Her career began in Georgetown, South Carolina, where she was a second grade teacher. In 2008, she started working in Berkeley County at Whitesville Elementary School, where she served the community as an assistant principal.
In 2010, she began to work at Sedgefield Intermediate School, where she was an assistant principal/interim principal. Most recently, she was the assistant principal for Daniel Island School through the last three years.
