Thirteen new jobs will be created when Carolina Metal Casings makes a $3 million investment as it expands its facility in Jasper County, South Carolina.
The company, located at 354 Industrial Park Rd. in Hardeeville, has been in operation for over four decades. It's a full-service jobbing foundry that specializes in the production of aftermarket metal casings. The expansion is expected to double Carolina Metal Casings' production capacity.
“We are very excited to take this next step in our development," Carolina Metal Casings President Jim Harwood said. "The South Carolina Department of Commerce along with other government agencies have been very helpful in making this expansion possible.”
Jasper County Chair Marty Sauls said the creation of jobs was a positive for the areas.
“Carolina Metal Castings brings excellence in craftsmanship and manufacturing to every job, and we are proud to see their products manufactured in our community,” he said.
SouthernCarolina Alliance Chairman Buddy Phillips agreed.
“Jim Harwood and Carolina Metal Castings have invested in our workforce and our community, and we appreciate his commitment to growing the business in our region," he said.
