South Atlantic Bank will soon be headquartered at a new space on Johnnie Dodds Boulevard in Mount Pleasant.
The new location will be in the Queensborough Shopping Center and will be leased through an affiliate of Charleston-based Jupiter Holdings, LLC. It was modeled after South Atlantic's Myrtle Beach and Murrells Inlet locations. A full-service branch will be on the first floor; spaces on the second floor will be leased to tenants.
“Our new office will serve as the bank’s headquarters in Mount Pleasant and is being built to accommodate the bank’s growth in the years to come," South Atlantic board chair and CEO K. Wayne Wicker said. "Our team in Mount Pleasant has done an excellent job in establishing the bank’s presence and reputation and we are looking forward to getting construction underway.”
Services at the new location will include drive-through lanes, a drive-up automated teller and a reception area with free wifi and coffee. A kiosk will be available to assist customers with learning about products and services offered by South Atlantic. A teller pod will make processing transactions more efficient.
Design on the new facility is being handled by ESD Architecture of Charlotte and contracting services are being overseen by Coastal Structures of Georgetown.
South Atlantic Bank has been in the Mount Pleasant area since October 2013, when a loan production office was launched. In October 2014 a full-service branch opened in the area.
