Students will receive awards for their performance in Effort, Math, English Language Arts, and Attendance. The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on May 18 at the Brunson-Dargan Elementary School, 400 Wells St., Darlington, South Carolina.
The SCE&G Homework Centers have been in operation for 25 years. They receive support from the South Carolina Chamber and the SCE&G. They are set up as an afterschool program, offering students supervised, safe, and structured learning environments. The atmosphere is designed to help students enhance their study habits.
There are currently 60 students enrolled at the Brunson-Dargan Homework Center, one of the most successful centers in the network. Since 2010, it has serviced 341 students from grades 3 through 5.
