The leader of SCRA, a self-sustaining nonprofit dedicated to advancing South Carolina's start-up technology ventures, is stepping down.
After a tenure of almost 11 years, SCRA CEO Bil Mahoney tendered his resignation to the SCRA board of trustees' executive committee.
“Working to grow South Carolina’s knowledge economy has been a highlight of my career,” Mahoney said. “It has been an honor to have led and served the dedicated clients, partners and associates of SCRA who are so dramatically advancing South Carolina’s technology ecosystem.”
The board will now begin a search for Mahoney's successor.
William Blume, SCRA's board chair, expressed his gratitude for Mahoney's service.
“I would like to thank Bill for his significant contributions to, and leadership of, SCRA and the state’s technology sector during the last 11 years,” he said. “SCRA is positioned to continue fulfilling its mission to advance science and technology-based economic development across the state, through the promotion of South Carolina university research and technologies and ongoing support for technology-based companies.”
