Beth McMillan, an attorney with South Carolina's McAngus Goudelock & Courie law firm, has been named by South Carolina Lawyers Weekly as a Leadership in Law Award recipient.
The award honors law professionals in South Carolina who have demonstrated signifcant achievements and made contributions to their communities and the legal field.
McMillan will receive her award at a ceremony in Charleston, South Carolina on March 10. She earned a bachelor of arts from Furman University and her law degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law.
McAngus Goudelock & Courie's lawyers specialize in insurance defense. McMillan's practice is focused on professional liability defense; she has counseled clients in cases involving coverage and bad faith, health care malpractice, business litigation, employment law, products liability, securities litigation and general litigation.
McMillan is also an experienced trial lawyer and has been retained on cases of professional liability, products liability, construction, business litigation, warranty defense and personal injury defense work as well as employment issues and litigation.
Outside the courtroom, McMillan is active with the South Carolina Bar Association, the Greenville County Bar Association, the Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel (FDCC) and the Professional Liability Underwriters Symposium (PLUS) as well as the Professional Liability Committee for the FDCC, South Carolina Defense Trial Attorneys’ Association Board of Directors and Women in the Law Committee.
