Sixty new jobs are in the works for the Laurens County community of Fountain Inn as food service industry giant D&W Fine Pack expands its South Carolina operations, investing $20 million and planning site upgrades.
“D&W Fine Pack remains committed to investing in the latest innovations, skilled employees and business partnerships that will help generate new opportunities for employment, economic development and community relationships within the area,” D&W Fine Pack President and CEO Kevin Andrews said.
A food service and packaging giant with headquarters in Buffalo Grove, Illinois, D&W Fine Pack operates plants in seven states nationwide, with over 1,700 employees. The company expects to begin hiring in the summer for positions at its facility located at 1372 N. Old Laurens Rd. in Fountain Inn.
“South Carolina’s manufacturing industry is growing so quickly because the people who make up our world-class workforce have proven to the world that they can do any job that is asked of them, and do it well,” Gov. Nikki Haley said, adding that the expansion “is a reason to celebrate in every part of South Carolina.”
In addition to its financial outlay and job creation over the next five years, D&W is planning equipment and machinery upgrades at its 650,000-square-foot Laurens County facility.
“We’re excited to [celebrate] the continued success of our state’s thriving manufacturing industry,” South Carolina Secretary of Commerce Bobby Hitt said. “D&W Fine Pack’s investment is a big win and will have a real impact on the people of this state.”
