Five Sears Hometown and Outlet stores throughout South Carolina will celebrate grand re-openings December 3-6.
Stores in Greenwood, Hilton Head Island, Seneca, Sumter and Walterboro have been outfitted with new fixtures and signs as well as revamped merchandising and new product lines.
The new layouts will see appliances take up more than half of the sales space in all the stores. New laundry innovation areas and sample kitchen set-ups have also been incorporated.
"Through this refresh, we're greatly improving the consumer experience by supplying our expertly trained sales team with tablets, so they have all the information necessary to compare and contrast appliances at their fingertips," Jamey Jones, a district manager of Sears Hometown Stores in South Carolina, said. "The remodeled stores will also provide customers with a much broader assortment of products available from the top 10 appliance brands."
New technology is also coming to the stores in the form of touch-screen kiosks through which customers can connect with store salespeople or browse inventory. Sales staff have also been trained and certified in certain brands.
All Sears Hometown Stores across the United States were part of the revamping.
