Cypress Creek Renewables officials have announced the company's plans to make a $10 million investment in a solar energy project in Darlington County, South Carolina.
“We are thrilled with this opportunity to bring a stable, clean source of energy to Darlington County," Matthew McGovern, CEO of Cypress Creek Renewables, said. “Cypress is making the investment in this project because we believe in the value of our partnership with this community.”
Cypress Creek Renewables specializes in the ownership and development of long-term solar energy projects. The company operates offices in Arizona, Missouri, New York and North Carolina, as well as Los Angeles and San Francisco, California.
The Darlington County solar facility will be built off Gilchrist Road and will produce 10 megawatts of energy at full capacity -- enough to provide inexpensive, secure, clean energy to about 2,000 South Carolina homes.
“Cypress Creek Renewables’ investment in solar power in Darlington County is consistent with our commitment to environmentally clean growth," Darlington County Economic Development Partnership Executive Director Frank Willis said.
