The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce recently released its 2015 Workforce & Jobs Report, spotlighting the workforce, challenges and current trends in the Palmetto State.
It includes updates on programs that prepare workers for trends in the automotive and aerospace fields and information on new types of jobs headed to South Carolina. There is also an update from the Department of Education and Workforce, as well as news about protecting employees' right to work. The reports were prepared with input from both business and government experts.
"The future of South Carolina’s businesses depends on a strong and capable workforce," South Carolina Chamber of Commerce President Ted Pitts said. “And while our workforce has demonstrated over the years that we are one of the strongest in the country, we have room to grow and adapt as the needs of businesses change. The South Carolina Chamber will continue to support an increased focus on programs to develop a skilled workforce to support existing and new business in South Carolina."
The South Carolina Chamber of Commerce represents more than 18,000 businesses and more than 1 million employees in the state. The complete report is online at www.scchamber.net.
