Construction is underway on a Gerber Childrenswear, LLC distribution center in Berkeley County, South Carolina.
The $33 million facility is expected to create 45 new jobs over the next five years.
Gerber Childrenswear, a marketer of children’s apparel including such brands as Gerber, Jockey and New Balance, was launched in 1980. Gerber Childrenswear is headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, and has offices in New York City and Bentonville, Arkansas.
The company’s state-of-the-art distribution center in Berkeley County is being built in The Rockefeller Group – MeadWestvaco Foreign Trade Zone, a joint-venture of The Rockefeller Group and WestRock Land and Development, formerly MWV. The 477,000-square-foot facility will have easy access to the Port of Charleston and South Carolina’s network of five interstate highways.
