SIB Development & Consulting of Charleston said last week that it has purchased Florida-based HOA Energy Advisors, a company that specializes in energy-efficient lighting and installation, with the combined company to be known as SIB Lighting.
SIB's focus will be new technology, LED lighting and energy-efficient retrofits.
"A number of our clients have expressed frustration in dealing with LED vendors," SIB CEO Dan Schneider said. "We believe SIB Lighting's unique vendor-neutral approach will allow us to work with our clients to increase their profits."
Financing for the purchase was overseen by Charleston-based Gold Ridge Asset Management.
"We see real potential to work with SIB to offer clients various financing options related to LED lighting conversions, including non-CAPEX lighting-as-a-service options," Michael Knox, president of Gold Ridge, said.
David Etzler, an industry veteran and CEO of HOA Energy Advisors, will serve as president of SIB Lighting.
"I'm very excited to be leading this new division under the SIB umbrella, as we offer a great way for companies to save money through reducing their energy consumption," Etzler said.
SIB Lighting's sales office and warehouse will be based in Boca Raton, Florida. All administrative functions will be handled at the company's headquarters in Charleston.
