The Charleston, South Carolina, Chapter of the American Marketing Association was recently honored by the American Marketing Association.
The Charleston chapter took first place for new member growth in the AMA's Spring 2013 Acquisition Campaign Contest. In the time frame set forth for the contest, 13 new members joined the Charleston chapter -- an overall chapter increase of 11.4 percent.
“Marketers looking to connect with like-minded professionals, grow in their professional development and succeed in their careers will find no better value than the Charleston AMA Chapter,” said Holly A. Fisher, chapter president and owner of H.A.F. Creative in Mount Pleasant. “This award is not only a testament to our hard-working board and volunteers but to what we bring to the Charleston marketing community. This chapter is a place of learning and connection for anyone in marketing, public relations and creative industries.”
For the win, the Charleston chapter was awarded two professional AMA memberships.
Currently, the Charleston AMA chapter, which was launched in 2007, has 114 active members.
The Charleston chapter hosts Signature Luncheons each month, during which a wide range of marketing topics are discussed.
Additionally, the chapter organizes regular networking events and quarterly coffee talks, which focus on niche marketing areas.
The chapter's annual event is its Marketing Bootcamp, which will take place this year on July 30 at the Historic Rice Mill.
