The Kickin’ Chicken in Mt. Pleasant is hosting the National ProStart Invitational’s Winning Culinary Management Team from Wando High School as guest managers from 5-9 p.m. today, with sales made during that period donated back to their program.
Students Talbot McGee, Anna Ware and Tanner Crunelle will work a shift at The Kickin’ Chicken where they will undergo a manager orientation, a staff pre-shift and will shadow different managers, hosts and expos during their time at the restaurant.
“We are proud to welcome these amazing young people into our restaurant, we’d be even luckier to gain them as employees,” co-owner of The Kickin’ Chicken David Miller said. “In the meantime, it’s our obligation to honor them, support them and raise awareness of their award winning program – and we have a perfect platform for that here, with our five locations.”
The community is encouraged to attend the fundraiser and help test the student’s management skills while working as part of The National ProStart Invitational, a high school competition focused on restaurant management and culinary arts. Management teams are required to come up with a business plan for an original restaurant concept and present it to a panel of industry experts.
The Kickin’ Chicken Mt. Pleasant is located at 1119 Johnnie Dodds Blvd.
